Enhanced photoluminescence in CaMoO4:Eu3+ by Gd3+ co-doping.
We have studied the luminescence property of CaMoO4:Eu(3+). The emission peaks at 590 ((5)D0→(7)F1) and 613 nm ((5)D0→(7)F2) for Eu(3+) are observed after excitation at 266 nm (i.e. Mo-O charge transfer band). The peak intensity of the latter dominates over the former indicating an asymmetric environment of Eu(3+) in EuO8 polyhedron or parity mixing. Luminescence intensity increases significant...
متن کاملInfluence of rare-earth doping on the photoluminescence of Zinc Oxide nanophosphors
This paper reports the photoluminescence studies of Eu (RE)-doped ZnO nanophosphors synthesized by precipitation method using ethanolic solution as solvent. The prepared samples are characterized by a Philips Holland TW 1710 XRD measuring instrument with Co target. The ZnO structure is found to be wurtzite. The particle sizes are found to be in the range of 70 nm to 90 nm. The prominent peaks f...
متن کاملEnhanced thermoelectric properties of the Zintl phase BaGa2Sb2 via doping with Na or K
Naor K-doped samples of Ba1 x(Na, K)xGa2Sb2 were prepared by ball-milling followed by hot-pressing. The topological analysis of the electron density of BaGa2Sb2 implies a polar covalent nature of the Sb– Ga bonds in which the Sb atoms receive the electrons transferred from Ba rather than the Ga atoms. Successful doping of BaGa2Sb2 with Na or K was confirmed with combined microprobe and X-ray di...
متن کاملTheory of plasmon-enhanced metal photoluminescence.
Metal photoluminescence (MPL) originates from radiative recombination of photoexcited core holes and conduction band electrons. In metal nanostructures, MPL is enhanced due to the surface plasmon local field effect. We identify another essential process in plasmon-assisted MPL-excitation of Auger plasmons by core holes-that hinders MPL from small nanostructures. We develop a microscopic theory ...
متن کاملAlkali Metal (Na & K)-Mediated Supramolecular Assembly of Oxovanadium(V) Complexes: Synthesis and Structural Characterization
The syntheses and characterization of alkali metal complexes [{VO2L}M(H2O}n] (1 & 2) [M = Na (1), K (2)] of anionic cis-dioxovanadium(V) species (LVO2 ) of the Schiff base 2-hydroxybenzoylhydrazone of 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde have been reported. The number of coordinated water molecules in [{VO2L}M(H2O}n] decreases as the charge density of the alkali metal ion decreases (n = 5 for Na and 1 for K)....
